Introduction

The 42nd Symposium on Engineering in Astronomy will be held "ONLINE and at a REAL MEETING PLACE, the large seminar room in NAOJ Mitaka," on January 17th to 18th, 2023.

The symposium aims at providing opportunity to discuss and share technical information in Astronomy. In order to attain its aim, the presentations include all fields of engineering and techniques for astronomical engineers, technicians and scientists such as designs, developments, maintenance, managements, and so on.

The theme of this year's conference is "Digital Transformation and Work optimization for our observations" and we invite general presentations. We also will offer "PLC Hands on Demo" as a workshop at this time.

The presentation style will be the following:

Oral presentation online (15 min + Q&A)
Oral presentation at real meeting place (15 min + Q&A)

Oral presentations are presented in Japanese (mainly) and in English.
